Build — Platforms

We build platforms that scale.

Marketplaces, SaaS products, customer portals, and internal tools.

The problem

The software your business runs on was assembled from whatever was available when you needed it — a spreadsheet that became load-bearing, a tool bought for one department that three now depend on, an integration someone built and left. It works until it does not, and the cost shows up as hours rather than as a line item: reconciling exports, re-keying orders, explaining to a new hire why the process is the way it is.

What you get

  • Multi-vendor marketplaces with vendor onboarding, payment splits and commission logic
  • SaaS products with subscription billing, role-based access and analytics
  • Customer portals — order tracking, account management, document downloads
  • Internal tools — inventory, approval workflows, reporting
  • Data migration from whatever you are on now, with a parallel-running period
  • Runbooks and handover documentation, not just a repository

How it works

We spend the first week understanding the business logic before writing anything — not a feature list, but the constraints and the decisions that produced the current setup. Then we build in weekly increments you can see and use, rather than a quarterly demo. Deployment goes to your infrastructure or ours, with CI/CD from the first commit rather than bolted on at the end. Handover includes the runbooks, the schema, and a walkthrough with whoever will own it after us. We do not subcontract the build.

Technical detail

Stack

NestJS or Next.js on the server, React or Next.js on the client, PostgreSQL, Redis for caching and queues. Meilisearch or Elasticsearch where search matters. We pick boring, well-documented tools because you will own this after we leave.

Architecture

Modular monolith by default. Services get split out when there is a real reason — independent scaling, a different release cadence, a team boundary — not because microservices are the fashion. Premature distribution is the most expensive mistake available in this category.

Data and migration

Schema designed against the actual business rules, not the current spreadsheet columns. Migrations run in parallel with the existing system until you have closed one full period in the new one and agreed the numbers match.

What's not included

  • Native mobile applications. We build responsive web that works well on a phone; if you need an App Store presence, we will tell you at the discovery call and point you somewhere good.
  • Ongoing feature development as an embedded team. We deliver a defined scope and hand it over. Retainers for maintenance are possible; filling a seat on your roadmap is not.
  • Migration off a proprietary platform where the vendor controls data export. We will assess it, but if the data cannot come out cleanly, no amount of engineering fixes that.

Where we hand off, we tell you before the invoice arrives — not after.
